Distinct Part of a Whole To become a member of the Sanctuary on the Trail (TM) Native American Church of Virginia means to be a distinct part of a whole. By becoming a member you are saying, “I have a responsibility to take action towards my belief. I have the right to seek God/Creator. I belong to this. I am on board with this initiative. I am willing to give of myself to show my dedication to this choice.”
LOVE & CommUNITY
Church Membership Our initiative is the coming together of a people. The purpose is, that people have a right to choose to believe in something; and it is a person’s responsibility to take action towards one’s belief. It is a commitment one tasks for their life purpose. The action we are proclaiming is the right to create space for that state of being or consciousness. This space exists beyond language, race, age, political affiliation, social status, financial status, and time. We refer to it as "Church."
One Tribe, One People We believe: there is “One Tribe, One People” coming together (a holy nation); each person has the right to seek Creator; and the realm of Creator is within us all. Creator God speaks truth. That is our right to hear Creator. Hear truth. And move towards truth. As a member of this initiative/church, collectively we are saying, “We believe in something and we have a responsibility to act toward our belief.” We believe God is calling man (his children) to himself; not man calling man to God.
Taking Action & Giving of Self Anyone can join the Native American Church of Virginia while still practicing their chosen religion and without conflict or deterrence from one’s current religious or spiritual affiliation. We do not proselytize or seek to reform one from their chosen faith. Our hope is that one becomes a more effective and authentic vessel in which to serve. There are many ways to volunteer and be part of this church body.
Free Membership Last year we launched a membership program with an enrollment fee. After much thought and prayer we have decided to return the money to all our new members and offer free membership to all. We’ll hold onto the card administration fee for those who received membership cards Mother Church card and enrollment contributions are $50 (tax deductible). We believe in being a light in the world and accepting each other for who we are and who we are not; helping others; and really loving neighbors as if they were ourselves. No one should have to pay for that.
Becoming a Member When you become a member, you are saying, “I have a right to seek God the Creator,” “He knows my name,” “I identify with this,” “I am connected to a people, to an ideal,” “to a people who care about each other,” “care about me,” and “care about the earth in which we live.” There are many benefits that come along with that identification like being involved with this spiritual community. Contact us if you are interested in becoming a member or learning more. Or complete the application above and mail it to oNACofVA@gmail.com or PO Box 123 Bluemont VA 20135.
“... Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ … But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the People of God …” 1 Peter 1-10
