  • Feb. 16, 2024 - Sheppard University Indigenous Foodways event with professor and environmentalist Clay Morris and about 15 graduate level students who prepared delicious dishes that they had never made before. Dishes included “Roasted Squirrel,” “Poshofa,” “False Face Pudding,” “Grape Dumplins,” and much more. 
  • Nov. 1 - Dec. 1, 2023 - Sanctuary on the Trail portraits (right) on display art exhibit featuring Joseph Giitter photographs of Native American dancers at Joyce Wilson Gallery at Bellevue University in Omaha, NE. For a number of years Joseph has traveled to powwows and photographed the dancers in make-shift studios. He shared the images with the dancers in exchange for letting him use the images for art. He has received no compensation whatsoever from this body of work. Thank you for your work Joseph!

Celebrated the enduring legacies of American Indian Indigenous traditional and contemporary food and art forms with presentations from Indigenous historical interpreters, craftspeople with demonstrations, dancing by Rick Ferry (Cree, Aaniih), and a special food documentary short-film, “Mapping America’s Native Food Trail.” Winchester Visitor Center at 1400 S. Sanctuary on the Trail Church Leaders and Art Consultants

Chris (Comeswithclouds) White & Rene' Locklear White
Together they enhance "Art in Nature" indoors and outdoors from Sanctuary on the Trail.  
Both artists take commission orders and donate contributions back to achieve Sanctuary on the Trail ojbectives.
They attritute their vision and love of Arts and Culture to Great Spirit.

Rene' Locklear White (Feather)

Rene'
René is a Lumbee speaker and artist with a 25-year military/Department of Defense career. René likes to refer to herself as an event artist and emissary. Her vision is helping others achieve success and wellness - and to help others live out their intended purpose with sparkle.
We certify that the art we produce or create meets the “Authentic Indian Arts and Crafts” and “Indian Product” criteria and is labeled appropriately as authentic in accordance 36 CFR 51, Authentic Native Handicrafts.

Chris
Chris is Cherokee is a Spiritual leader/guide. His wood- and stone-works are a combination of locust, cedar, walnut, cherry, pine, jasper, green slate and more.​ He is also an engineer and enjoys helping others create something good.
