Native American Church
Our idea of maintaining a church is a spiritual place / space, not a building. On paper we are a non-profit church. What is written on our hearts and minds is unearthing the Creator's Spirit in our hearts and heritages for all our relations.
Our church is bringing recognition to the Native People of the Americas for their contributions and intelligence to the global community in which we live. We're helping leaders first. Who is a leader? 
Church not Charity Organization
This is a church not a charity organization. The Native American Church of Virginia is exempt from registration and requirements of charitable organizations under Virginia Solicitation of Constitution Law §§ 57-48 through 57-69 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended July 1, 2013. |
"One Tribe, One People"
The first of these people would be Native Americans in spirit, but include people from every race, religion and background. The premise is that these people would come to an understanding of the "Native Way" of life: love and revere the Creator; which includes respecting creation, i.e., “Mother Earth;” and the revelation of "Yeshua," "Messiah," "Jesus Christ," "The Great Mystery," "Father," "Creator God;" and Love “Human-hood,” i.e. love your neighbor as if it were yourself. Chris’s dream told him to tell three native spiritual elders about this short story that he was given. Then Chris learned of Quanah Parker Comanche Chief, who, when was seriously wounded, had a vision of Jesus Christ who instructed him to make peace. After making peace, Quanah Parker later founded the Native American Church, which the foundation is Native American spirituality and Christianity. What is Native American spirituality: creation, nature, the Great Spirit in all things. What is Christianity: belief that Jesus Christ the Son of God, thorough which all things created were created. This led Chris to James Warren (Flaming Eagle) Mooney Seminole Elder, Medicine Man and co-founder of Oklevueha Native American Church who is the Priory of the Indigenous People Under the Grand Priory of the United States of America for the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem. Through sacred ceremony with Mooney, Mooney blessed Chris with the first independent branch of Oklevueha Native American Church of Virginia in 2009. Chris stated he was taken back when elder Mooney prophesied that millions of people would be reached through the church in Virginia. The medicine Chris carries is from Great Spirit and not of his own. One word to describe Chris is "deliberate." His spiritual charge is, “Keeper of the Word.” "Helping Leaders First" Can a 5-year old be a leader? Can someone who is still in school be a leader? Can someone who cannot read or write be a leader? Can someone who is old become a leader? The qualities of leaders we aim to help have a passion of walking in Love, Faith, Gratitude, Humility, Charity, Respect, Honor, and Forgiveness. Leaders are developed and nurtured. We offer a kind of peace place to leaders. "Helping Leaders First," we aim to empower and encourage leaders of different ages & different tribes and communities across denominations. Why? What We Believe We believe we are all related. If we have the understanding that we are all connected, we do not want to hurt our self. Yet, people are hurting in the world. Since we are all related, by helping a few, we help the whole. When we help each other individually, we are helping each other collectively as a people. Then, what is set in motion grows and spreads. We believe God is calling man (his children) to Himself; not man calling man to God. We believe God is calling for leaders. Helping leaders, better equips them so they can help reduce suffering in the lives of the people they come into contact with and communities in which they live. Medicine is for those who are sick. spirit, mind or body, a state less than perfect.
Who among us is perfect? We all need help or medicine in one or all the areas of spirit, mind, and body. We believe that almost all sickness starts in the spirit and invades the mind, then manifests itself in the body. Medicine is provided by Creator; whether directly from creation or flowing through His people. His Word is good medicine. Help is good medicine. Medicine is also education. Medicine is ceremony. Medicine is guidance. Medicine is also a deeper spiritual understanding of what it means to live a fuller life without suffering. We care and help others. It is our goal to offer tools to people and assist them in their seeking a more abundant life. To help them achieve peace and joy. Ultimately to help them find spiritual truth and balance in their lives. |
